Here’s Fujitsu’s next generation color e-paper module (on the left) demonstrated at the 16th e-Book Expo Tokyo. It is certainly the brightest and most attractive color e-ink display I’ve seen even if the image load time was necessarily increased to achieve this result. A load time of .7 seconds seems fairly reasonable for magazine browsing if it means a display this colorful and bright can be read in bright sunlight. Not that I have any hopes of seeing this kind of display in a device for sale any time soon, but it is nice to see that the technology exists. Continue on for the video.
